Grants Administered by PIE
2023-24 Grants Administered by PIE – Grant Applications are now open.
Be sure you are logged into your Rapid Identity email to access the shared drive.
You must be a Craven County Schools employee (with an active cravenk12.org email account) to access the grants and to be eligible to apply for grants administered by PIE.
- These grants are offered through an RFP (Request for Proposal) format: The TRAA Art, ADK Professional Development, Woman’s Club of New Bern Art, Bate Individual School, Aspire to Inspire, Superintendent’s ECP, and Optimum Tech Grants. See the individual RFPs for more information on the focus of the grants. In the shared drive—go to Grants Administered by PIE.
- These grants are submitted using Google Forms: PIE Grants and International Paper Math and Science Grants. They are in the shared drive—go to Grants Administered by PIE.
- We suggest you start your grant in word or google docs and copy and paste it into google form. That way, if something happens while you are in forms, you will have a backup copy and this will help you in your word and space count.
- If you are applying for an International Paper Math & Science Grant or a PIE Grant through PIE, DO NOT LIST THE NAME OF YOUR SCHOOL OR ANY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION IN THE BODY OF THE GRANT (e.g., school mascot). That will automatically disqualify your grant and is the number one reason these grants are not awarded!
Every effort has been made to assure the grant applications are easy to use. However, if you should experience difficulties, please get in touch with Darlene Brown at 514-6321 or Darlene.Brown@Cravenk12.org.
PIE is proud to offer $74,750 for the 2023-24 school year to our Craven County Schools educators and administrators in a variety of grants that are designed to get the extra resources our school system needs to purchase new equipment and supplies and assist our teachers to effectively implement programs in their classrooms. We offer grants funded by our business and individual partners that provide opportunities that might not otherwise be available.
Teachers: All members of PIE earn one extra point added to the average of the reviewing committee’s score on the rubric. See your PIE Ambassador to learn more about how you can become a member of PIE and earn that extra point on your rubric. Follow this link for a listing of PIE Ambassadors. Visit the Get Involved section—Membership in PIE section of this website to join online.
Notes:
- In terms of technology (for service and conformity), all items should be on the Craven County Schools Approved Technology List (for any questions, contact Ross Friebel, Director of Technology at Ross.Friebel@cravenk12.org). For a list of those items, please follow this link. Be sure you are logged into your Rapid Identity email to access the shared drive.
- NOTE: All schools must purchase from the approved technology list. Any technology purchases regardless of funding source that are not listed on the approved list must be approved by the Director of Technology prior to purchase. This is to ensure system compatibility and the most competitive pricing. The CCS Technology Department makes every attempt to purchase consistent models throughout the year to streamline maintenance, support, and reduce maintenance costs to the school.
- Any software or app must have Terms of Service and Privacy statements vetted by the Director of Technology to ensure the safety and protection of our students and student information.
- PIE has a grant resource guide for the educators and administrators of Craven County Schools. This guide lists grants from outside organizations (foundations, etc.) and is titled “A Grants Resource Guide.” To access this guide, follow this link. Be sure you are logged into your Rapid Identity email to access the shared drive.
- PIE Grants must be accompanied by the Principal’s Approval Letter. Follow this link for a sample approval letter (check your download folder).
- Before you submit your grant, consider having one of our grant mentors, Katy Chadwick, Dr. Hillary Boutwell, or Kim Scott review your grant. They can offer valuable feedback!
